Windows Modules Installer Worker(TiWorker.exe) is basically a Windows Update Service, that looks after new updates and further installs it to your system. Sometimes it may lead to high CPU load and could lower the working of your computer. Follow the steps mentioned below.

1) You need to open Windows Service Setting.

How to: a) Open Run box by pressing Win + R (Windows logo key + R key) at the same time.

b) Write services.msc in the box given

2) Gently Scroll down on the page of services setting. Search and click twice on Windows Modules Installer.

3)    Set the startup type to Manual and then click OK.

4)    On the page of services setting, search and click twice on Windows Update.

5)    Set the startup type to Manual and then click OK.

6)    Follow the steps given below in order to prevent Win 10 from downloading updates automatically.

Case 1. In case you are using WIFI.

a) Go to Start > Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-FI and click Advanced Options on the right    pane.

b) Mark Set as metered connection.

Case 2. In case you are using Ethernet Network

a) You need to Run Regedit as administrator.

How to: write Regedit in the search box from Start menu and press Enter key.

After that Click Yes as soon as it is prompted by UAC (User Account Control ).

b) On left pane of Regedit Editor window, move to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > WindowsNT > CurrentVersion > NetworkList > DefaultMediaCost

and Right-click on DefaultMediaCost and select Permissions.

c) Simply Click Add… under Group or user names box. Write your user name into entering the object names to choose and click Check Names.

After that click OK in order to close Select Users or Groups window.

d)Select the user that you have just added, and then mark on allow box of Full Control and Click OK.

e) On the left pane of Regedit Editor window, click twice on Ethernet and then assign Value data as 2.Then Click OK and close the Regedit Editor window.

 

7) Reboot your system

Now you will notice that Windows Modules Installer Worker may not lead to High CPU load on your Windows 10.
